So Fellow 'Zonies..

How did your day start?

Mine started with a dead body found in the greenbelt/retention basin of MY cul-de-sac in the upscale, quiet, family friendly, insane right wing, Town of Gilbert.

I woke up early so I could get to the airport and get in some touch & gos before it got too hot. At about 0400 when I was just stepping in the shower I heard lots of sirens. Our house is close to a fire station and we only hear sirens if it's a BFD, so, I said a little prayer and went about getting showered & dressed.

When I got ready to leave, just after sunrise, I opened my garage door only to find GPD cars & trucks with flashing lights lining the street, the entire greenbelt/basin was wrapped with "Crime Scene" tape and the exit from my cul-de-sac, which is pretty much at the end of my driveway since I live in the corner house, blocked.

From the scarce info provided to me by GPD, I'm pretty sure somebody OD'ed. I f-ing have Narcan at my house, just "in case" even though I don't know any users. I thought it would be cheap insurance. I am heart broken for the family and friends of the person that passed. I am heart broken because this town will continue to elect idiots that want to punish addicts rather than treat them. I am heart broken because that "guy" (don't know if it was a chik or dude) who died didn't have a supportive father like Joe Biden to love them and us through their crisis.

I was a little late to the airport, but said more prayers that the "guy" was finally free of their demons and just kinda took them metaphorically under my wing into the sky.

Please just go tell somebody you love them. Maybe it'll make a difference?

It was a guy. His name is Christopher. He was 37, a father and Army veteran with a Purple Heart 💜. He worked as a behavioral health tech.
Rest gently Christopher.
