I used to live in Flagstaff and was just looking at pics of the Oak Creek Slide Rock fire. My heart aches. Such a beautiful place. Now people are evacuating Kachina Village. Lots of old friends there.

I see there is a chance of rain today so I hope it pours and brings this to an end.

1. Isolated showers here and there for the next couple of days

and we desperately need them. Unfortunately, this time of year the water seldom makes it down to the ground and the showers come with lightning. This is why our fire season is in the spring. June is the hottest and driest month.

Even an increase in humidity will help firefighters. They will need all the help they can get for the next two months. The southwest isn't just dry, it's crunchy dry.
