Related: About this forumCA DU'ers, are your cities and counties having trouble implementing the recreational MJ law ?
My Orange County FL "county mayor" feels like she has a gun held to her head (her words, paraphrasing). For FL, it's only medical marijuana and it's very tightly restricted. Our counties and towns just have to adopt similar rules to pharmacies.
I think it's BS. I think our county mayor simply doesn't want MMJ, and she's too cowardly to come out and say this.

(37,457 posts)They might allow for retail sale and not cultivation; they might allow for cultivation and not retail or manufacture or a combination, said Martinson.
For example, Yolo County doesnt allow dispensaries while Sacramento city requires only indoor cultivation. But in Sacramento County, all cannabis-related businesses are banned for the time being.
There is a lot of local control built into Proposition 64, reiterated Martinson.

(51,649 posts)and imposed so many restrictions it is ridiculous. And this is just for medical pot. Dispensaries are constantly harassed so most people say "Fuck It" and get delivery instead.

(51,649 posts)Cops bust places right and left for the smallest infractions such as being within a certain number of yards within a school, residences, etc. As soon as you find a dispensary they are closed within 6 months. There are only a few mega dispensaries that are given licenses and can afford to stay in business. Of course they are very popular, have everything imaginable under the sun, are very professional and very knowledgeable and have quality products. Also there are the high state, county and city taxes applied to everything. They have happy hour prices and discounts for the disabled and military.
