Another councilman targeted for recall amid anti-growth rebellion in Dublin
DUBLIN A rebellion against this citys rapid growth is targeting a second councilman with a recall campaign as the City Council prepares to discuss relaxing term limits.
Don Biddle has been served with notice that his critics plan to begin collecting signatures to recall him even though he is scheduled to be termed out of office this fall, according to a citizens group called Dubliners United which is organizing the recall campaign.
Members of the group initially served Councilman Abe Gupta with a recall notice on Dec. 6. But since then, the group has served a recall notice to Biddle as well, said Bobby Khullar, one of the leaders of Dubliners United.
Recall organizers say they are concerned that the City Council is looking at the possibility of relaxing its eight-year term limit, potentially opening the door for Biddle to run again in November. The Dublin City Council will discuss terms limits at its meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dublin City Hall.
