(4,613 posts)It was passed by 54% of the voters. What it does here is allow non-affiliated party voters and independents and decline to state voters access to vote in the primaries for someone other than their party candidate. They can request a Democratic party ballot, but not a Republican one.

(767 posts)I think this was a GOP idea to freeze out democrats years ago. Even if two democrats are fighting for the same seat the GOP wins during the election fights. This is as sad of dividing the state (another GOP plan) into 3 states. The majority (democratic people) will not vote for this crazy plan. The states higher education (thinking people) has frozen out the GOP. The state's voting population is only only 1/3 GOP. All of the underpopulated areas are GOP. Forty congress seats are democratic and 13 are GOP.

If the State's voting population is only 1/3 Republican, why did so many Democrats join them in getting 54% of the votes to pass it?
Were they tricked or just ignorant?
