I read the following in our local paper:
A generous diner left a $2000 tip at Playa restaurant in Mill Valley on Saturday evening. Presumably. a lovely gesture made to offset the waitstaff's reduced earnings during the coronavirus crisis. Bravo to the tipper. Hang in there restaurant workers.

find ways to help restaurants and workers at cities across the country. Chef Jose, Tom Colicchio, etc have sites set up to donate. Lots of good ideas.
