"In response to the new Field Poll released on the Secretary of State race, candidate Derek Cressman said today, “With scandal’s plaguing our state Senate, voters will be hungry for reform and they’ll look to someone who’s been pushing for solutions for 19 years – not someone who’s been part of the problem.” - Derek Cressman, Candidate for California Secretary of State

Candidate Derek Cressman Questions Character of Rivals Padilla, Schnur

LOS ANGELES – State Senator Leland Yee may be out of the running to become California’s next Secretary of State following his spectacular arrest on corruption and organized crime charges, but two of the top remaining candidates also have demonstrated patterns of ethical lapses that should concern voters, according to their rival Derek Cressman.

Pete Peterson, to be precise. It would appear that Padilla has the best shot to beat him. It's really not cool to trash-talk fellow Dems.

but both have troubling records that voters should consider before making either of them the state’s top election official

So does Peterson. He's a repuke. Repuke secretaries of state across the land have troubling records of vote suppression.
