Governor: Legalizing pot was bad idea

Colorado’s decision to legalize marijuana was a bad idea, the state’s governor said Friday.

Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat who opposed the 2012 decision by voters to make pot legal, said the state still doesn’t fully know what the unintended consequences of the move will be.

“If I could've waved a wand the day after the election, I would've reversed the election and said, 'This was a bad idea,’ ” Hickenlooper said Friday on CNBC's “Squawk Box.”

“You don't want to be the first person to do something like this,” he said.

I don't know what Hick is talking about.

If a person is not interested in marijuana there is simply no impact on you at all ... except seeing an occasional marijuana store now and then.

There hasn't been any increase in crime; there aren't hordes of stoners wandering around; the Doritos section of the grocery store is still well stocked; etc.

In other words, contrary to the doomsters predictions, legal sales of recreational marijuana has had zero impact on the average Coloradan's daily life.

Not that I think this negativity impact is major enough to question all the new revenue since we still see the continuing decline of violent crime.

We just have to find a way to take care of a homeless population that more or less tripled over night according to the report some shelters have put out. (How knows maybe they are liars and just want a cut of that sweet sweet cheddar)

People have been smoking pots for decades. The only change us voters made was to stop throwing them in jail for doing so and to stick our fingers in the eyes of the illegal drug dealers.

He has no problem when frackers want to pollute the water we drink and the air we breathe, but dammit if people want to decide to smoke pot, well, that's not something they should be allowed to decide. The government needs to decide that for them.

Democrat, my ass.

And the private prison industry wants y'all to know that to be true through a convenient mouthpiece masquerading as some sort of "public servant".

Think of all the lost investments and income that won't be generated. Perish the thought! No way! Talk about unintended consequences. There are many vested interests waiting in line to voice their bottom line grievances.
