Carper was having a FB live event at 5:15 tonight re: health care.
Just got home in time to make one post: "Newark, DE here. The Affordable Care Act had it's issues, mainly because it had been so gutted, watered down, and rewritten to appease insurance companies before it finally got passed. It didn't leave a majority of people (vets, elderly, low-income, women, children, disabled, etc.) out in the cold and only one illness away from bankruptcy. Health care is a right, not a privilege! We need single payer health care and a much heavier hand with the insurance industry since they greatly contributed to and encouraged the breaking of the ACA. From the little bit that has been leaked about this bill, it's nothing more than thinly veiled tax break for the rich while totally gutting care for everyone we should be providing care for - women, children, veterans, elderly, disabled, etc. It's unconscionable that a few old rich white male Republicans are holed up in their offices making plans to hurt so many Americans. This is not making America great again. This is not moving us forward. This is degrading the United States and has the potential to destroy the middle and lower classes in our country. This has got to be stopped!"
