Perhaps not significant ? Fatality rate for COVID-19 in Florida is trending very slowly upwards

https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/map/florida

Scroll down to where it says "More trends for Florida". There, click on Fatality Rate. The trend line is going slowly up.

If this is accurate, this surprises me. It doesn't help the stats that DeSantis has played politics with the reporting.

I don't know the actual number of "COVID-19-attributable deaths" versus number of cases, etc. I guess one would have to look at all the data and put it into context.

Is probably one of the most reliable places to get information. I'm not sure why the death rate would be going up since there have been a few news stories saying how low the hospital occupancies are with covid patients.

I also follow worldometer and we have been lying about our deaths because it just doesn't match. For several weeks weeks we were stuck on three deaths per day and I even read a post from someone commenting on what a fabulous Healthcare System we must have because the numbers just weren't matching. (In a mocking manner) I would then go and look at our County deaths and just those were many times more than three per day.

Maybe it is associated with the fact that we have 296,388 Active cases yet as of yesterday? A huge majority of those people would not be vaccinated so maybe there is a higher death rate?
