Fired county worker ordered to apologize to Attorney General Pam Bondi

A circuit judge has ordered an Orange County employee who was fired for threatening to kill Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to write her an apology.

Circuit Judge Heather L. Higbee on Thursday directed Kevin Cunningham, 51, to have no contact with the Republican officeholder other than writing a "legitimate and sincere" apology as punishment for a hateful message that led to his firing and arrest on a pair of felony charges.

He also must perform 200 hours of community service.

Cunningham, who worked in the Fiscal and Operational Support Division, was fired by the county after managers learned he sent the threat to Bondi's website from his work computer. He was angered by Bondi's praise for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
