Visit Florida salaries, contracts, soar over 4 years

With a record-breaking number of tourists flocking to Florida’s beaches, theme parks and cities, Visit Florida increased spending by more than $34 million over five years, hiring more employees, increasing cash bonuses and signing multimillion dollar marketing contracts.

The more than 109 million tourists who visited Florida last year contributed $2.9 billion to Florida’s lifeblood sales tax revenue. State economists predict Visit Florida’s vast advertising efforts contributed to $259 million of the state’s total tax revenue from tourism.

Lawmakers say the $86.3 million the public-private tourism development partnership spent last year was well worth that $259 million return.

At least 75 percent of Florida’s General Revenue fund is supported by the sales tax.

imagine if he did not refuse the high-speed rail but Obama literally threw at him! That would have brought jobs, that would brought infrastructure, that is a sort of investment that the fine, "working-class voters "in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania would have killed for! And to base his aggressive attempt to kill off Medicaid, and the fact that he literally is stained with Medicare fraud himself and I really shutter for what this guy will do once he tries to get into the Senate, especially because we still have people were very influential in the Hillary election effort down here. The Florida Democratic Party often acts like what the wrestling industry calls "jobbers"; the people whose job it is to get beat up in the wrestling ring yet make it look like the match is not fixed!

PS: if T Rex and Trump and Rick Perry get their way, they will put enough oil rigs off the coast of Florida to where we look like Louisiana, and become bait for all disasters just like Louisiana. Bye-bye tourist dollars!
