Florida mayor arrested and charged with domestic battery
Royal Palm Beach Mayor Frederick Pinto was arrested Monday on misdemeanor domestic battery charges, reported the Palm Beach Post.
According to Circuit Judge Dina Keever-Agrama’s ruling, the 67-year-old Pinto can still contact the alleged unidentified victim but he was ordered to have “no violent contact with the victim,” the Sun Sentinel reported.
The relationship between Pinto and his accuser was not revealed. His next hearing is Dec. 11.
Pinto, a technology executive, was elected to the Royal Palm council in 2003 and to the mayor’s seat in 2016.
