Tant 'enraged' over harassment allegations against former Democratic Party chair
Watching the turmoil at the top of the Florida Democratic Party’s leadership hasn’t been easy for Allison Tant, the state party’s immediate former chair.
Tant's successor Stephen Bittel stepped down last week following allegations by six women that Bittel created an unprofessional work environment for women.
“It’s all true,” said Tant, who served as chair from 2013-16. “I know most of the women who went to Politico.”
Bittel apologized and resigned last week after six women told Politico how he demeaned them, used inappropriate language, leered at young women and invited them on his jet. He also kept a breast-shaped stress ball on his desk.
