Deputies: Florida Woman's Home Was So Filthy We Arrested Her for Child Neglect (photos)

Florida deputies say this home was so disgusting it was criminal. Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to help the Department of Children and Families at the home of Lee Stump.

“Upon entering the home, Deputy Johnson said that he was hit with a strong odor of urine and feces,” a MCSO Facebook post said. Not only that, Johnson recalled seeing animals, their feces, flies, trash, and dirty laundry. The post also said that Johnson found the child, who was dirty and not wearing shoes.

Stump allegedly explained the mess by claiming to be disabled and unable to clean the home, but Johnson said that she had no problem walking out of the house and getting into the back of a patrol car, the Sheriff’s office said.

The 13-year-old child was placed into DCF custody. The animals, which were not described, were taken away by Marion County Animal Control.

She looks like she doesn't wash herself let alone clean her house. kimbutgar Jan 2019 #1
She obviously has issues. I hope this leads to her getting some much needed help. walkingman Jan 2019 #2

I felt bad because they always had their grandkids staying over even though they were serious hoarders.

does not mean you’re not disabled. I’m surprised a professional publication would be so ignorant about disabilities.

Maybe and/or heroin, but almost surely meth.

So sad to think of a child living in those conditions. Sheesh ...

I have seen cases where there was illness w/o drugs and cases where it was both. Her mug didn't look that much like a whiff head though.

is probably the cause. Just not having the energy, desire and motivation to do anything.

Lack of healthcare funds and social stigma makes such people fall through the cracks.
