I've always been in and out in 5 minutes. It might've been 15 minutes in 2016.

Amazing to see these kind of wait times on day 3 of early voting. Day one they sort of dismissed, calling it "the perfect storm", since it was the first day, a holiday, and "glitches".

Voting should be sooo much easier and quicker to accomplish. I've never seen so many people so dedicated to making their vote count.

Imagine a Division 1 College Football program, that every year, the first game of the season, they have some random ticket scanning problem that creates a 2-3 hour delay in getting into the stadium. At half-time, there's still 40,000 fans waiting to get in.

The end of the line finally enters, just in time to catch the post-game fight song.

And it happens... like clockwork... every year.

I agree these times are ridiculous. I am just trying to find out if the precincts are deliberately slowing this down?

There's no other excuse. The glitches (which should've been worked out BEFORE voting started) ought to have been resolved by now. Read one report from yesterday a precinct only had 1 of 6 machines working.

I heard on the radio yesterday that a networking issue had been discovered with the check in equipment. This is a step before the normal poll pad check in, and is used to identify your district / combo, if you've voted absentee, cancel an absentee if it's brought in, etc. This isn't used on election day because a voter is supposed to be in their precinct. Supposedly the network issue has been resolved.

Saying that, it's panic time either at the state or county level. My precinct manager called me early today saying that we're supposed to handle double the number of voting stations. Our precinct doesn't have the space to do this.

Have been checking times during the day today, and they seem consistent with those of Thursday. And this is Day 5!

Really amazing turnout this year. Really hoping to see big changes as a result!

Can you imagine if we were still in days gone by, and everyone voted on election day? The process has evolved so much, by necessity and to a lesser extent convenience. I hope the evolution will continue in years to come. I will be interesting to see.
