7 dead, at least 5 injured in separate shootings across Chicago
Seven men were killed and at least five people were wounded in separate shootings Monday, police said.
Most recently emergency crews resonded to a call of multiple people shot at Marquette Road and Throop Street, near Ogden Park, about 7:20 p.m., according to Chicago Fire Dept. Cmdr. Walter Schroeder.
Two adults who were shot in the attack were taken to Stroger Hospital where they were pronounced dead, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a spokeswoman for the Chicago police.
One victim, a 47-year-old man, was walking his dog when he heard shots being fired from a vehicle and he was struck in the chest, said Tannehill. The second man, 24, was hanging out in the park when he also heard the shots and began running. He was wounded in an unknown part of the body, said Tannehill.
