Lanham, MD – Today, Kweisi Mfume, former Member of Congress from Maryland and head of the NAACP, endorsed Congresswoman Donna Edwards (D-MD) in her race for the United States Senate in Maryland.

“Today more than ever Maryland needs a fighter in Washington who understands the struggles facing families across our state and the policies needed to help sustain and support those same families now and into the future.
From healthcare, to voting rights and education, to reforming our criminal justice system and eradicating poverty, the need for a sincere and tested leader is clearer today than ever before. Donna Edwards is that leader. Over and over again she has stood up and spent time working on our behalf when it wasn’t popular.
