from Sierra Club:

Dear Ellen,

Maryland has the worst air quality on the East Coast.

Don't let Governor Hogan condemn our families to more dirty air by blocking protections against coal plant pollution -- send a message to Governor Hogan today!

Bad news from Governor Hogan already.

As one of his first acts in office, Governor Hogan is threatening to condemn Maryland families to more dirty air, by holding up protections against coal-fired power plant pollution.

Maryland's air quality is the worst on the East Coast and 20% of children in Baltimore have asthma.1,2 The Maryland Department of the Environment's (MDE) proposed health protections against dangerous coal plant pollution -- 15 months in the making -- couldn't come soon enough.

Governor Hogan is condemning Maryland families to more dirty air, more asthma, and continued health issues caused by dirty coal-plant pollution.

Will you send Governor Hogan a message letting him know you oppose his decision to block protections against coal pollution, and ask him to put the health of Maryland families first?

MDE's proposal to cut pollution from coal plants is common sense, and would have finally brought Maryland up to speed with coal heavy states like Alabama, Kentucky and West Virginia.

If we allow Governor Hogan to block clean air protections while we have the worst air-quality in the East, he could propose even more extreme anti-health measures.

Send Governor Hogan a message today urging him to allow MDE to implement their common sense proposal to protect the health of Marylanders so we no longer breathe the dirtiest air on the East Coast!

Thanks for all you do to protect the environment,

Seth Bush
