Massachusetts resident sues Target over Parmesan cheese

A Massachusetts resident has sued Target Corp., alleging the big-box retailer sold "100% parmesan cheese" that actually contained additives, including anti-clumping agents drawn from wood pulp.

The resident, Ronald Saitta, filed the suit in federal court in Boston on Thursday. Saitta said he purchased the cheese at the Target store at One Mystic View Road in Everett.

In February, Bloomberg reported that some brands promising 100 percent Parmesan cheese, including Target's, contained no Parmesan at all.

According to the complaint:
Plaintiff was induced to purchase the Product based upon the statement appearing on the front of the label, i.e., Parmesan100% Grated Cheese. Plaintiff would not have purchased the product, and/or would have paid significantly less for the product, had he known that the 100% representation is false and mischaracterizes the amount and percentage of parmesan cheese in the container.

with lots of lawsuits going on.
Suing the chains that sell it probably is a good way of getting pressure applied to the producers of the cheese, including Kraft.
Right now the labels say "100% " cheese...but contain "ant-iclumping agents" which are wood pulp.
