TYT Detroit Army, Wolf Pac Michigan supporters, friends of The David Pakman Show, and fans of the Best of the Left Podcast: join us for an epic joint meetup event during the Netroots Nation conference!
As many of you know, the 9th Netroots Nation conference will be held at Cobo Hall July 17-20 of this year. We'll meet at The Anchor Bar on the 17th, the Thursday night of the conference. The Anchor Bar, which youll find on Fort Street in the Mercier building, is well known in Detroit for welcoming and supporting progressive causes. Owner Vaughn and the rest of the Anchor staff are happy to have our merry little band for this exciting event.
I expect the TYT Army will make a strong showing as we welcome new local friends, as well as our special guests from afar! And for those coming down to Anchor for the first time: youll find lots of parking available, either on the street in front of / near the bar, or in adjacent lots. And for anyone attending Netroots Nation, the Anchor Bar is a block north of Cobo Hall on Fort Street.
Please visit the Facebook or Google+ event page where you can invite friends and RSVP. Hope to see you there!!

(5,927 posts)I will certainly try to make that scene. I try to keep up on things but I had NO IDEA the netroots conference was coming to The D!!
I have to make a greater effort.

(5,927 posts)Was this item visible on the main DU page? I totally missed it.
The reason I ask is that it seems to me that The D is very strongly represented on DU, and I've actually been talking about getting together with Detroit DUers.
There could be some synchronicity here......

(4,236 posts)All DU'ers are more than welcome to join TYT Detroit! You need not already be a fan of The Young Turks show; ours is a group that was formed from fans of the show, but all our local progressive friends are more than welcome.
As for posting to the DU main page, I'll happily take your advice on how to do so. While I'm a frequent reader of DU, posting is not something I'm very familiar with at all. Suggestions?
This will certainly be our largest event to date, so I hope to see you there! Meanwhile, join us on social media through our website.
