got good rain on the 4th. It didn't do much to quell the heat, but the hot weather seems to have moved out for now.

It's drought level here. I watered my front pines today finally, and a couple of hours later, you couldn't tell I'd watered them at all. We need rain horribly.

I've been watering the main garden once a day, but when I dug up some new potatoes tonight, the soil was dry. I'm getting out the sprinkler and soaking it all down in the morning while I'm at church.
