Still has to go through the Sen.
The party-line vote in the House followed an earlier 3-2 vote in the Government Operations Committee.
The resolution now moves to the Senate, which could take it up as early as Thursday. If the Senate also votes to reject the order, that would kill it.

Lawmakers said they didn't have a problem with Whitmer restructuring the Department of Environmental Quality as the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, but they strongly oppose the governor's decision to abolish industry-dominated panels that would review environmental rules and permit decisions under a law passed by the GOP-controlled Legislature and signed by then-Gov. Rick Snyder just last year.

(86,612 posts)at least 1.2 centuries from both sides of the border. I remember an incident where there was some contamination affecting the state's water and probably totally permeated the environment back in the early 1970s, maybe? What I recall reading in the papers was that a massive amount of livestock had to be destroyed along with a general prognosis of high rates of cancer and birth defects for some time to come.
As a people, we need to do better than we have and we need to make the change now.
