Ficano wants to pay former aide $275K to settle suit

Detroit —Embattled Wayne County Executive Wayne County wants taxpayers to spend $275,000 to settle a lawsuit from a former aide whose attorney is launching a recall against him.

The proposal comes weeks after Ficano's attorneys offered former Assistant Executive Ralph Kinney nothing during a mediation session.

Kinney, who sued last year on claims he was let go for cooperating with the FBI, isn't officially part of the recall campaign. But his lawyer, Richard Convertino, is organizing it.
