I love Grand Marais, a nice little town. Plus it's near the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area.

about 1300 live in Grand Marais, which seems to attract a lot of arts and crafts types and laid-back retirees from the cities, and there's also the Grand Portage Indian Reservation within the county. I know the ID question was a particular sore spot for Native Americans, who have previously been allowed to use their tribal IDs to register to vote.
