Sun 12/7 1pm St Paul from Pearl Harbor to Peace

FROM PEARL HARBOR TO PEACE
Sunday, December 7, 1 p.m.
Landmark Center
75 West 5th St, by Rice Park and the Ordway in St. Paul

Larry Johnson, storyteller/veteran, with members of Veterans for Peace, use stories and music to explore the milieu of World War II. Edward R. Murrow announces the attack on Pearl Harbor. . . brief call back to the 1914 World War I Christmas truce, the Armistice, and the 1928 Kellogg-Briand Pact outlawing war. There will be remembrance of soldiers killed at Pearl Harbor, as well as all soldiers and civilians killed throughout the war, including those at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We'll tell the little-known story of the effort by Harry Skornia, founder of PBS, to establish RADIO FOR PEACE. Program will end with the ringing of Armistice Bells, made by veterans this past year, under a State Arts Board grant.

Landmark is currently hosting the PEACE OF MY MIND EXHIBIT, and later in the year will have an exhibition on WORLD WAR II AND HIROSHIMA/NAGASAKI. More information at www.keyofsee.mn and 612-747-3904
