Related: About this forumOpen Streets Minneapolis, Sunday, June 10.
http://openstreetsmpls.com/Experience our city the way it was meant to be as we transform one of our busiest streets to be free of motorized traffic and clear for people to walk, bike, skate, Zumba whatever floats your boat! Historically, the street has been the center of social activity where people shopped, gathered, built relationships and talked about their world. For one day Open Streets brings this back, promoting healthy living, local businesses, sustainable transportation and civic pride.
Taking place this year on June 10th, Open Streets Minneapolis is one of over 70 initiatives in North America modeled after the Ciclovías of Bogotá, Colombia. Every Sunday for almost 40 years the Ciclovías there have grown; now almost 2 million people participate weekly.
