Bank teller, suspect die after Mantachie robbery, law enforcement pursuit
SALTILLO – A bank teller was killed and a suspect shot and killed herself later Wednesday morning after being confronted by Saltillo police.
Bank teller Judy Guin, 64, of Marietta was killed, Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson said.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said his department was called to assist Itawamba County after a lone suspect, a white female, went inside the Farmers & Merchants bank in Mantachie and fired multiple shots.
"We got the call at 10:42 that the bank had been robbed and the suspect was in a black Tahoe westbound on Highway 363," Johnson said. "We knew that led directly to our county.
