Springfield woman, 18, shot at clerk who wouldn't sell her booze, police say

Police say an 18-year-old Springfield woman fired a gun at a gas station clerk who wouldn't sell her alcohol.

Chloe Reavis was charged Monday with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and resisting arrest after police say she fired a shot at the Gastrip on Kearney Street and Grant Avenue before leading police on a car chase.

According to a probable cause statement, Reavis went to the gas station in north Springfield just after 6 a.m. Monday and tried to purchase several items, including alcohol.

The clerk checked Reavis' ID and refused to sell her alcohol, according to the statement.
