New Missouri laws impact transportation, tort reform, health, agriculture
This summer, Scott Moore, of Joplin, has given close to 100 rides as one of Joplin's Uber drivers. Even though he has a 9-to-5 job with a local company, Moore signed up to be a Lyft driver, too.
Working for the two ride-hailing companies on weekends and weeknights puts about $100 more into his pocket each week, he said.
“It’s a matter of the time you put into it is what you get out of it,” Moore, 46, said.
Moore may soon be joined by others in the state going to work for Uber and Lyft, following passage of a bill that creates uniform regulations statewide for ride-hailing companies and allows them to exist anywhere in the state without having to worry about local ordinances.
