I liked it when I left but the transformation had just begun, some of what made NYC interesting to me is gone forever.

(15,682 posts)not a motorcycle? In the wrong direction. With no ID. The headline makes it sound like a drunk motorcycle rider going in the wrong direction into oncoming traffic.
I can understand the problem it would cause to ride a bicycle the wrong direction in such a crowded city. But no ID?
This "news story" seems a little ridiculous.

(7,720 posts)and the person does not have ID on them, THEN they are taken into custody to sort things out. Had he been stopped and frisked (assuming probable cause) and was not issued a summons, then he would not have been taken into custody.
I heard on the radio that he did the "don't you know who I am?" routine. He supposedly said something about how young the cops must be if they did not know who he is.
If Baldwin had not been violating a traffic law he would not be in the news today.

(7,720 posts)I seem to remember him playing 'Words with Friends' on his phone while on an airliner that was pulling away from the gate. He was escorted off the plane because he refused to turn off his cell phone. I'm not convinced that cell phones actually do have the ability to cause interference with the operations of an airliner, but that's the rule and by not following that rule Baldwin inconvenienced a lot of people that day.
