Former city transportation commissioner Iris Weinshall will soon have a new job.
The New York Public Library announced today that Weinshall will serve as its chief operating officer, starting Sept. 1.
She will be leaving the City University of New York, where she now serves as vice chancellor of facilities planning, management, and construction.
Weinshall, Chuck Schumer's wife, was also recently elected chair of the Prospect Park Alliance.
