Ball spokesman says “slander” will be handled “with absolute force”

Jon Campbell

A spokesman for state Sen. Greg Ball acknowledged the senator’s campaign has found “minor discrepancies” in its financial disclosure filings, while simultaneously threatening to use “absolute force” against those who attack Ball’s character.

The Putnam County Republican was mentioned in an article Friday by the Times Union, which reported Ball’s campaign spent money on travel to Mexico, New Orleans and Florida without itemizing the expenses.

Joe Bachmeier, Ball’s spokesman, issued a lengthy statement Friday afternoon, saying the campaign will amend its previous finance disclosures if need be.
