Shooting in West Village. Cops injured, suspect dead, and he was profiled on John Walsh's show
WEST VILLAGE, New York (WABC) -- Gunfire rang out in West Village on Monday afternoon as 3 law enforcement officers attempted to serve a warrant on a suspect.
Two US Marshals and one NYPD detective have non-life threatening injuries. Police say one U.S. Marshal was shot in the stomach, while the other shot in the arm. It was not clear where the NYPD Detective was shot.
Police sources tell Eyewitness News they responded to reports of two law enforcement agents who were shot in the West Village.
The officers were issuing a warrant to a suspect who was wanted in California. The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Charles Mozdir who wanted by police in Coronado, California on child molestation charges.
