KIRYAS JOEL – A large-scale search was underway Sunday for a 10-year-old autistic boy, who wandered away from his father in the Hasidic village of Kiryas Joel.

Simon Zorger was outside his family home on Lizensk Boulevard with his father watching him. The boy wandered off without being noticed.

State troopers, State Police bloodhounds, village public safety officials as well as volunteer residents including students attending the yeshiva, searched the nearby woods.

Anyone who may has seen the boy is asked to call the State Police at the Monroe Barracks at 845-782-8311 or the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Office at 845-782-5577.

Update according to local media he has been found and is ok.
