George Latimer is now Westchester County Executive, having ousted 2-term incumbent Rob Astorinio in last November's blue wave.
The County Legislator makeup also changed, from 9 Democrats, 8 Republicans to 12 Democrats, 5 Republicans.
Therefore, the race is on to fill Latimer's old state senate seat.
