Appearing in front of an influential clergy coalition, Mayor Bill de Blasio delivered a brief recap of the liberal achievements of his young administration yesterday, sidestepping recent setbacks.

(14,498 posts)This guy comes from politically savvy , sophisticated parents. He cut his teeth as a pro-Sandinista, anti-imperialist international activist. He went to Nicaragua. He went to Cuba. He took risks. He paid dues.
He's surprised... and scarier still.... *deterred* because the charter school lobby spent 3 million dollars calling him mean names on tv commercials?
Who cares? He was just elected by a 73%-23% margin over the charter school candidate. He doesn't have to run for office for another 3 and 3/4 years.
If not now..... WHEN?
