New York's pitch to score 2016 Democratic National Convention could include Brooklyn

The de Blasio Administration is “enthusiastically” putting together a proposal to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention — and the game plan could go beyond Manhattan to the mayor's beloved Brooklyn.

National conventions, when Gotham scores them, have been traditonally held at Madison Square Garden.

But a letter to the party, the city included the lure of the “new Barclay’s Center in the heart of Brooklyn” as part of its initial pitch, along with MSG and the Javits Center.

“Our five boroughs [would] provide the perfect stage on which to present the Democratic Party’s ideals and vision,” Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen wrote the Democratic National Committee.
