Ohio Senate committee puts finishing touches on state budget plan
COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio Senates budget-writing committee put its finishing touches on a state-budget proposal on Wednesday, setting up the two-year, $69 billion spending bill to be approved by the full Senate as soon as Thursday.
The state Senate Finance Committee voted unanimously, with four Democrats joining the committees 10 Republicans, to send the budget to the Senate floor, recommending it for passage. Committee members approved a flurry of spending measures and other largely minor changes.

I think both parties have their fingerprints and priorities established in this bill, said Sen. Jay Hottinger, a Newark Republican.
