As if Dayton's Oregon District hadn't been through enough, the past year...
FFS:
https://www.daytondailynews.com/news/dayton-community-begins-cleanup-after-saturday-protests/HbqtfEKLSL1PqfZWk1s7GO/ Apparently, outside agitators came and threw things through the windows of retail stores and restaurants down there. I'm convinced one of the reasons the COVID numbers never spiked as badly in Montgomery and Greene Counties as in the rest of Ohio is, we're all so shell-shocked from the tornadoes on Memorial Day, the shooting in the Oregon District, the KKK marching in downtown Dayton ... if anybody suggests anything to prevent a disaster, it's easy to get people around here on board with anything that might make it less awful.

1. I've been thinking about all of the "Thank You Dayton Police" signs...
in the District and up Wayne Ave.
Wonder if they're going to stay up? |

2. Didn't see anything about police behavior.
Dayton usually doesn't have a lot of tension between the community and the police. They have their moments, like any small city police force, but it's rare that it breaks out into anything serious.

3. They were unnecessarily aggressive last night.
I've lived here most of my life, and haven't seen the level of antagonism they exhibited. It was especially egregious on Wayne since, as you point out, the District has been through enough hell.
