Excerpts
by Northampton Co. District Attorney John Morganelli, who was Corbett's Democratic opponent in one of his races for Att. Gen.
"First, Corbett undertook a highly political and partisan investigation with respect to Bonusgate defendants shortly before his re-election year 2008. For over a year, Corbett exclusively concentrated on Democratic legislators and ignored the Republican House and Senate leaders who engaged in similar conduct.
Under scrutiny of the 2008 campaign, Corbett reluctantly afforded minimal resources to Republican bonus issues. Although it is true that in the end some Republicans were in fact arrested and prosecuted, most of Corbetts political allies and financial contributors in the Senate were given a total pass due to Corbetts delay in investigating Republicans misdeeds.
...Such rules however did not stop Corbett and his employees from harassing campaign people associated with my campaign. People working in my campaign were the recipients of grand jury subpoenas and threats. His agents actually asked witnesses before the grand jury questions about my campaign. He even started the investigation under false pretenses including a false representation that the matter had been referred to Office of Attorney General by my office.
The Patriot-News has also reported that a former investigator inside the child predator unit of the Office of Attorney General has stated that under Corbetts watch, child predators were allowed to remain at large until the Attorney General was in the vicinity to do a perp walk to get publicity even though there was sufficient evidence to arrest.
