16 miles of PA headwater streams in danger from coal waste

16 miles of headwater streams - a crucial breeding habitat for bats -- will be filled in with coal waste

Stop longwall coal mining from destroying Pennsylvania streams!

The largest underground longwall coal mine in southwestern Pennsylvania is running out of space to dump coal waste from processing coal. And now the mine owners want the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to approve a permit for two additional Coal Refuse Disposal Areas, also known as valley fills.

Sign this comment letter demanding DEP deny the permit that would allow coal waste to be dumped in nearby valleys and let them know you want Pennsylvania streams protected from coal mining!

ps - Once you've taken action, watch the drone video of Consol's current mining waste disposal site https://www.facebook.com/147068983381/videos/10153720859063382/?fref=nf

The drone video is devastating. There will be no Pennsylvania left between the coal waste and the fracking mess....and Consol is involved in both of them.
