Are you interested in a career in union or progressive organizing? Are you an on-campus organizer or activist?
Summer Brigade is paid educational program for talented people passionate about social and economic justice. The program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring organizers to learn about the labor movement and learn the basics of how to organize low-wage workers to take action and win change. The program offers hands-on organizing experience through campaign field work combined with weekly labor history classes and skill building workshops.
Participants in the program can expect experiences like: conversations with low-wage workers at home and at work about the power of a union; experience identifying workplace leaders; learning how to map a workplace; mobilizing workers to take action; supporting and planning protests, demonstrations and actions. Summer Brigade positions are available in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Florida, Philadelphia and the Washington DC area.
