Related: About this forumPA to test new payment model for rural hospitals
Gov Wolf and his staff applied to CMS and got a 25M grant to test out a new payment system to the state's struggling rural/small hospitals. The initial hospitals in the test program will be paid a flat sum each month rather than using the fee-for-service payment system. It seems like it could work and is on par with hospitals, etc, that pay their doctors a straight salary.

So while the residents who use these small/rural hospitals were busy voting for Trump and other downballot Rs, the state's Democratic governor was busy trying to save their struggling hospitals and the employment that goes with them.

(9,265 posts)Hope the idiots in this state can see to reelect him next year. He seems well liked and not a whiff of scandal. Would love to see him run for Pres in 2020 but he's 68 I think (looks a lot younger!) and we need to go young next time IMO.
He's a business owner who ran for high office with no political experience. Unlike another one, he only thinks of the people here and how he can make things better for us.

(15,286 posts)He's very understated with a dry sense of humor, too. The ads he did on PCN for the annual farm show were hilarious. He's not a complete novice, though, after serving as Rendell's revenue secretary. I love how when Wagner upended the agreed upon funding for the unemployment call centers, the 3 centers Wolf decided to close all were in Republican districts. It was great to see Republican actions have direct bad consequences to voters in their districts.

(4,223 posts)I hope that he decides to run again. He's the only bright light in this (now) red, hillbilly state. Our state color should be camo and our state vehicle the pick up truck with a gun rack. Ugh.
