I just received notice that HB28, Philadelphia State House Republican Rep. Martina White's anti-sanctuary city bill, is scheduled for discussion and vote in the House State Government Committee on Tuesday, June 13.y
House Bill 28 (HB28): Would hold “sanctuary municipalities” liable for damages caused by the criminal activity of unauthorized immigrants. Would require law enforcement to report anyone they reasonably suspect of being undocumented to federal immigration authorities.
In a controversial move, one that echoes the Trump administration's attack on so-called "Sanctuary Cities", White in 2017 issued a statement blaming illegal immigrants for crime in the city of
Philadelphia, and then sponsored a bill, asking that her own city be stripped of millions of federal dollars, earmarked for law enforcement.
In Trump world, a 28 year old state rep gets to destroy her own city. It should be noted that she was backed the Pa ALFCIO. If you know someone pass the word about this because the GOP Philly Inquirer has been hiding this story. She needs to be defeated in 2018 and the seat be returned to the Democratic Party.
