In his letter, Wolf warned Sessions, If you seek to further disrupt our ability to establish a legal way to deliver relief of medical marijuana to our citizens, I will ask the attorney general of Pennsylvania to take legal action to protect our residents and state sovereignty.
The governors view is shared.
I dont think the federal government should have a say in that, especially if the states have already adopted something, says Jack Durange of Bellevue.
Why would they charge them with a crime if its due to a medical reason? So I think thats wrong, adds Liz Cheatham of Verona.
The United States of America is about states rights, and the states should have a say-so in how their state is governed, notes Dan McBride of Washington.
Pennsylvania will soon award licenses to grow medical marijuana, but some worry the feds may step in to prosecute those who grow, prescribe, and use medical cannabis.
There certainly is a lot of worry, says Hosford.
Sessions has zeroed in on medical cannabis.
I think medical marijuana has been hyped maybe too much, says Sessions.

(128,905 posts)Wolf has generally been low-keyed during his term so far (unfortunately our state legislature is all GOP), so good to see him rise up on a national topic like this. He is up next year, so hopefully we can get him re-elected here in order to have him in during the 2020 census.

(19,546 posts)Most of our legislature is repub, because it is gerrmymandered.

(128,905 posts)Wish this had happened 6 years ago but oh well. I know they were battling the state legislature gerrymandering at that time and did get some of that corrected by 2012.

(32,634 posts)Some of the western states such as Colorado have turned marijuana into a major industry.
We should see what Sessions has planned for CO (if anything) before we take a stand. If Sessions doesn't interfere in CO then there should be no worries here in PA.
Just sayin'
