Dr. Michelle Fiscus and husband leaving TN for VA...our loss, but can't blame them

https://wpln.org/post/shes-tennessees-ousted-vaccine-chief-hes-a-school-board-member-heres-why-theyre-leaving-the-state/

"The former top vaccine official in Tennessee and her husband, a school board member in Williamson County, say they are moving to northern Virginia in the fall, amid heightening tension over measures to fight COVID.

Brad Fiscus said in an interview Friday that the move was already in the works before a contentious school board meeting that he took part in Tuesday to discuss mask mandates.

At that meeting, protesters held signs with messages like, “I will not let you muzzle my child,” and “My child, my choice.” Some had to be escorted out by law enforcement. The meeting drew national attention, with President Joe Biden praising health workers who spoke about the importance of masks and were subsequently threatened by protesters.
......
The move is bittersweet, he says. They had planned to stay in their Franklin home until retirement, then move into an assisted-living community down the street.

But the move to Virginia will afford Dr. Michelle Fiscus, who was fired this summer from her job at the Tennessee’s Department of Health over vaccination efforts, more opportunities to continue working in public health. Plus, she will be able to continue to be a board member for the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she represents both Tennessee and her new state, Virginia, as well as Kentucky, North Carolina and South Carolina."...(more)

3. There ARE winners and losers......

VIRGINIA - you win!!!!

TENNESSEE - you lose!!!!

What's sad is that there will be many in Tennessee that will be proud of that move......

5. What's that they say about cutting off your nose to spite your face?

This is why places like TN get worse and worse, while places like Northern Virginia get better and better.

6. We welcome people like the Dr. Ficus and her husband who are fighting to help people prevent and

survive Covid. Virginia will be a better place for their contribution.

7. Tennesseee is especially cursed with that Blackburn (expletive deleted)

She's every bit as pigheaded as Abbot and De Satan, she just gets less press because she's female and nobody thinks she'll run for president. Uh, don't bet the rent on that. She's perfectly willing to kill people to align herself with the MAGA crowd.

8. Looks like the start of a 'brain drain' from Tennessee.

And believe me, we can't afford to lose much!

9. When the Republican Death Squad is finished, we may need another census.

After all, New York lost a House seat by 84 people. How many thousands have Texas and Florida lost? Perhaps they don’t deserve the new seats they gained.
