Tennessee [I] governor candidate arrested after disturbance call at voting site

https://www.wate.com/news/tennessee/tennessee-governor-candidate-arrested-after-disturbance-call-at-voting-site/amp/

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WATE) — An independent Tennessee governor candidate was arrested at a Hamilton County voting site Monday, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

Charles Van Morgan, of Knoxville, was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and intimidation of voters.

Police said they responded to a call from the Hamilton County Election Commission stating that someone was causing a disturbance on the 700 block of River Terminal Road. The report stated, “A man was screaming about politics, cursing, getting into people’s faces and harassing the voters.”

Snip

Van Morgan was also a former Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper who was fired in 2012 after driving past a fatal wreck.

More at link, including that he was carrying a handgun at the time of his arrest.

Good 'ol TN, always a disgrace.

... a driver chasing him at up to 80mph on residental surface roads, when the guy lost control going over a rise and hitting a tree and bursting into flame. The cop slowed down to 20mph and drove past him, radioed he lost the suspect and drove on - coming back after his radio called out an accident. He drove back and made a big deal of spraying an extinguisher all over the burning car, saying later he knew the guy was dead, and he was making a big show for news cameras.

This guy is exactly the guy we do not want in any sort of position of authority, all the way down to junior high school hall monitor.

That is a horrible thing to do. Then to admit the extinguisher was just for media?

Always truth vs perception. I'll take truth every time!
