AMARILLO--Texas Monthlys December issue brands the viral vamoose of an Amarillo restaurateur with a 2014 Bum Steer Award.
A sign trashing Amarillo posted or not? at former Amarillo eatery Sava! Italiano pinballed through the social stratosphere in September, with GrubStreet calling it the Worlds Most Insulting Closing Notice.
The notoriety of the incident lands the Sava! episode among the notable Amarillo business stories of 2013.
News of the sign had, through Wednesday, garnered 131,548 views on BuzzFeed, 3,453 gazes on Reddit and a multitude of posts on blogs such as Grubstreet, Gawker, Huffington Post and The Inquisitor.

So by now most of you have probably seen the Sava! exit sign making the rounds on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Huffington Post and other major news sites.
AGN Media business reporter Karen Smith Welch, who wrote a news piece today about this issue, took the photo on the right when the sign was still up at Sava! The logo and font on the viral image of another Sava! sign (pitcuted at left) seem to be the same as the one we know to be real.
So, is the one on the left a photoshopped version of the real sign? Or is the sign on the left legitimate and someone from Sava! just used the same template as the sign we photographed at the restaurant?
