Single rose left at station in memory of teen shot by Longview police
LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A single rose was left in front of the Longview police station on Cotton Street in memory of the teenager shot Thursday night.

The department's lobby was temporarily on lockdown after the incident.On Thursday, Officer Kristie Brian said that Coignard entered the lobby of the police department. She picked up the red assistance phone in the lobby, and asked for police to come to her. When officers entered the lobby, Brian said, the woman was wielding a weapon, and was making threatening movements toward the officers. The woman was then shot by police.

Mayor Jay Dean said Thursday evening that he had been told that a woman entered the police department wielding a knife, but that he was waiting for that to be confirmed.
The Texas Rangers responded to the scene and are leading the investigation. Three officers were placed on administrative leave with pay following the incident, which occurred around 6:30 p.m.
